All Persons Must Log On to Use Library Computers
In compliance with University of Florida policy, beginning Spring Semester, 2002, all persons must log on to public computers in the Smathers Libraries using their assigned library card number.
Current UF Students, Faculty, and Staff -- The 14-digit number beneath the barcode on your Gator 1 card (begins with 200...) is the assigned library card number. This is the same number you must enter to renew materials online, recall an item, request an Interlibrary Loan, or access library electronic resources using the proxy server. Activate this number at a library circulation desk to use library computers or the services listed above.
You must activate your card number if:The number on your Gator 1 card should already work for computer access if you have used it to:
- You have never used your Gator 1 card for library services
- You have obtained a new Gator 1 card
- Check out materials
- Renew materials
- Recall an item
- Request an Interlibrary Loan
- Access library electronic resources using the proxy server

Library Visitors -- Persons without borrowing privileges may register and receive a Library Computer Access Card that contains an assigned library card number. Registration must be updated each semester.
