In the far background is Century Tower (1953), designed by architect Guy Fulton, and built in commemoration of UF's 100th anniversary. The anniversary dates from the founding of Florida Seminary in Gainesville (1853).  In  the foreground is the sculpture, Alachua, by artist John R. Henry.  In  the middle of the two is the Computer and Information Science Building (left) which is connected to the Marston Science Library (right).  These buildings were designed by the Orlando architectural firm of VOA Associates and opened in 1986.

This ensemble of sculpture and buildings has become one of the most photographed sites on campus.
