Staff Authorizations Integration Group
Members: Denise Bogart, Bill Covey, Winston Harris, Martha Hruska, Barbara Oliver, Steve Shorb, Grace Strawn
Charge: To ensure that each library position is linked
to the appropriate set of systems permissions and authorizations needed
to function effectively in its responsibilities. This includes systems permissions
in PeopleSoft, Aleph, library web files, and all library computing including
email.
Systems will be responsible for initiating appropriate permissions for new
staff, making necessary changes as staff transfer or positions change, and
ongoing maintenance. Human Resources will be responsible for keeping Systems
informed of all staff changes. Department chairs will be responsible for
maintaining accurate and appropriate permissions for each position in their
departments.
The group will need to consult with Rich Bennett regarding Aleph permissions.
The group will need to consult with UF Bridges implementation liaison, Troy
Haynes, regarding needed PeopleSoft functionality and improvements.
Initial actions will be:
· Review what is currently in place and what we should be able to
accomplish using PeopleSoft as it is supposed to work for 'Worklist' and
other managerial email routings.
· Consult individually with each department chair regarding what
functionality staff need in each system.
· Systems consult with Rich Bennett on the Aleph permissions submitted
to date by each department.
· Define needed management reports for each system, discuss with
departments.
Communicate by way of updates to Library Council at meetings or in email.
Timetable: Progress report to Library Directors group and Library Council, mid Jan. 05. Aim for effective implementation July 05. Review ongoing needs for continued integration (management reports) at that time.
