Technical Services Division

The Technical Services Division of the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida consists of three areas of technical operations: Acquisitions & Licensing Department, Cataloging & Metadata Department and Preservation Department.

Technical Services serves the University of Florida’s community by acquiring, organizing and preserving academic and scholarly information to support academic programs. The expertise in the three departments encourages research endeavors and ensures access to print and digital resources through Web discovery systems, enhanced finding tools and Endeca, the Library catalog.
