  • CREATE CHANGE -- A year-long campaign intended to help faculty transform the system of scholarly communication. CREATE CHANGE focuses on reaching faculty through contact with librarians and will include a series of brochures, web resources, advocacy tools, and a speakers' bureau. The campaign is sponsored by the Office of Scholarly Communication of the Association of Research Libraries and SPARC.
  • SPARC -- Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition, is an alliance of libraries that fosters expanded competition in scholarly communication.

REPORTING SYSTEM PROBLEMS WITH FCLA SERVICES Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm -- Report to your Systems Liaison who will contact Library Systems at 392-0796 -- they will determine the next step. If your Systems Liaison is unavailable, call Systems yourself. Evenings, Weekends, Holidays -- Call NERDC at 392-2061 to report when NOTIS, LUIS, or WebLUIS are unavailable. Also call NERDC if you receive a report from a user outside the library that the Remote Access Proxy Server is not working. NOTE: This is NOT the same as the library public workstation proxy (which is NOT an FCLA responsibility). FCLA also manages gateway links for FirstSearch, EUREKA, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts. If more than one of these services isn't connecting, report it to NERDC as well. If only one isn't connecting, the problem is almost certainly at the vendor's site. NERDC staff can contact appropriate FCLA staff by beeper during these times. Problems may also be reported to FCLLIST (by anyone subscribed) during these times, but there is no guarantee that anyone at FCLA is monitoring those messages. This is why NERDC must be called.
