LIBNEWS - UF Libraries' Staff Bulletin Board
Following are suggested categories for posting items to LIBNEWS (the UF Libraries'
Electronic Bulletin Board). These are only provided as a guide. Submit whatever you
think would be useful or interesting for your staff colleagues to know.
Items submitted are posted automatically and (normally) are immediately available.
ACCESS: In addition to being available on the web in the Staff "Toolbox" ( http://web.uflib.ufl.edu/toolbox ), postings are also available from a public folder while logged on to your Smathers e-mail account. Select PUBLIC FOLDERS, then ALL PUBLIC FOLDERS, then LIBNEWS.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION TO LIBRARY E-NEWS
- Send all news to the following e-mail address:
- From a Smathers e-mail account, simply type libnews in the To... box.
Alternatively, select "Library Newsletter" from the Global Address List.
- From any other e-mail account, send to libnews@mail.uflib.ufl.edu
- If the item should be read immediately (due to its temporal nature),
the subject line should begin with ALERT! (in capital letters) - and
may (or may not) be followed by a short subject.

- Staff Professional Achievements (Awards, professional association
committee appointments, elected offices, conferences attended,
presentations given, publications, etc.)
- Staff Personal News
- Events (Meetings, etc.) of General Interest (Staff Association, etc.)
- Training Opportunities
- The "Libraries in the News"
- Status Reports (Special projects, renovation plans, etc.)
- Suggested Professional Reading and Other Interesting Resources
- Library Administration, Department, Office, and Branch Libraries News
- Library-Wide Committees and Task Force News
