Support Services Division
The Support Services Division of the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida provides the infrastructure services necessary for Library Operations.
- Business Services provides accounting supervision and reporting for all dollars under Library control, including purchasing, salaries, travel, and physical plant expenditures.
- Facilities Planning supervises the physical plants of Library areas. Matters involving housekeeping; building and grounds repairs; security issues; mail pickup and delivery; physical working conditions; and the distribution of commodity supplies are all handled by Facilities.
- Human Resources provides essential personnel services for Library employees, including facilitation of the tenure and promotion process; hiring; training; and payroll.
- Systems provides information technology support for all aspects of the Libraries except the Aleph catalog software. Computer and software configuration and purchasing; network architecture; coordination of desktop support and repair; data and access security; and server administration
