Biographical/Historical Note
The Florida Railway and Navigation Company, created in 1884, marked the first significant railroad consolidation in Florida history. The company failed to pay the interest on all of its outstanding bonds and was eventually transformed into the Florida Central and Peninsular Railway in 1889.

Consists of a letterbook created by the Florida Railway and Navigation Company from 1888-1891.
