Biographical/Historical Note
Josiah Prescott was a Union lieutenant during the Civil War who settled in Fernandina, Florida, after the war. He owned a shoe store and haberdashery and became very wealthy.
Scope and Content
This collection includes three of his letterbooks, which contain a great deal of information about his business affairs. Some information about his personal life also is included.
