Biographical/Historical Note

Lawyer and state legislator of Florida. Born in West Virginia; educated in Florida. Law degree, University of Florida. Practiced in Miami. Pettigrew's service in the Florida legislature included the House of Representatives (1963-1972; speaker, 1971-1972) and Senate (1972-1974).

Scope and Content

Papers relating to Pettigrew's service in the Florida House of Representatives and Senate, and his unsuccessful U.S. senatorial primary campaigns in 1974 and 1980. Also includes materials relating to the Florida Democratic Party and the Advisory Committee on Florida's Future.
