Record Group IV

Record Group IV contains the personal records of members of the Chase family-along with letters from several generations of Chases and other families in the Chase family tree.

Series 12: Chase Family Papers, 1891-1960; bulk 1891-1940
4 linear feet (10 boxes)

Series 12 contains the personal records of three individuals-Laura Duval Chase (wife of Sydney Octavius Chase), Henry Martyn Chase, and Randall Chase-along with letters from several generations of Chases and other families in the Chase family tree. Some of the letters date back to the 1700s. The record group also includes genealogical materials from a number of sources. With the exception of the Randall Chase letters, all of the material in this record group came with the first accession. The bulk of Record Group IV was identified as the Chase Family Papers in the Snodgrass finding-aid but the source of the materials was not identified and remains a mystery.
