Series 8 contains personal files of Sydney Octavius Chase and includes both family correspondence as well as materials related to Chase's civic and private interests. Of note are the records related to a trip across the Everglades in 1892, his correspondence with James Ingraham of the Florida East Coast Railroad, and materials related to Henry Shelton Sanford and the City of Sanford. The last box in the series contains official records of the city when Chase served on the city commission. The series also documents Chase's personal investments. Of specific interest is a file on KKK activity in Sanford and Chase's work as a chief in the American Protective League during World War I.

Series 9 contains personal files of Joshua Coffin Chase and includes both family correspondence as well as materials related to Chase's civic and private interests. Of note are the records related to his political interests, his activity as a bank director with Barnett Bank, and his charitable contributions. The latter included the Boy Scouts of America, Rollins College, and the Hungerford School, a school for African Americans in Eatonville. The series also reflects Chase's interest in family history. The last two folders in the series contain letters written by him to his daughter Cecilia Chase Lasbury and were donated by her daughter, Cecilia Lasbury Johnson.

This series contains the files of Sydney Octavius Chase, Jr. pertaining to both his personal and professional life. The original order and content of the files was maintained. The series also contains business records that would be more properly located in Series 3. The earlier files contain multiple years of correspondence and there is considerable chronological overlap. Later files are organized by year. Earlier files tend to be divided into personal and business correspondence with later files combining the two.
Most of the letters in this series are from friends and family and are unrelated to the Chase business interests. Some of the business correspondence may be copies of letters found in the business records of Record Group I. The series documents Chase's charitable and philanthropic activity as well as his views on political and social issues. However, the bulk of the series relates to family matters. Of note are the correspondence regarding the cross-Florida canal and St. Johns-Indian River Canal in box 199, the letters related to strife with Uncle Josh in box 201, and Frank Chase's wartime letters from North Africa and Italy in box 201.
