Biographical/Historical Note

Lawyer, politician, and soldier. Yonge was secretary of the Florida Constitutional Convention at St. Joseph (1838); member of the Florida Senate (1843-1844); U.S. district attorney; district attorney for Florida under the Confederacy; and in the Confederate military (1863-1865).


Scope and Content

The collection consists of miscellaneous materials relating to various Yonge's careers. Includes financial papers, business and legal correspondence, and letterbooks while Yonge served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War.
