Scope and Content
The collection consists of historical manuscripts by Peck, some family correspondence, clippings, and documents. Manuscript topics include the Spanish American War, early settlements in Florida and Georgia, and the treatment of Austrian Protestants by Roman Catholics. Some of the manuscripts have the by-lines Gravenstein Peck and Radcliffe Peck. Their relationship is known. Although in some of the materials Peck purports himself to have been in Cuba serving with the rebels at the time of the Spanish-American War, the papers primarily relate to his time in, and events in Tampa during the war.
