A. Sydney Herlong, Jr., 1909- .
Papers, 1948-1968.
Born in Alabama; grew up and was educated in public schools in Sumter and Lake counties. Earned his law degree at the University of Florida, and went on to established a law practice in Leesburg in 1930. Elected county judge in Lake County, 1936-1944; and was [appointed] Leesburg City Attorney, 1946-1948. From 1949 to 1969 he served as a member of the Florida delegation to the U.S. Congress.
The collection consists of principally of papers and correspondence from his legislative terms.
Gift of Mr. Herlong.
