Jack and Anne Rudloe Papers
MS Group 109

Part III:  Short Writings (SW): Magazine articles, Chapters in Books, and Technical Reports. 1961-1996. 13 boxes.

"Short Writings" primarily contain the manuscripts and related correspondence, notes, etc. of  published magazine articles written by Jack Rudloe and often co-authored with Anne Rudloe. They also include two chapters from a book on the national parks and a technical report on netfishing. Unpublished writings, both short and book-length, are found in the Unpublished Writings section. The periodical articles are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the magazine in which they appeared. Other writings are at the end. The Rudloe's have been most frequently published in National Geographic and Sports Illustrated. The most extensive part of this section is the turtle material for the Rudloes's 1994 National Geographic article on sea turtles. Their article on the Atchafalaya basin is also heavily documented. This material overlaps with related material in The Search for Great Turtle Mother and to a lesser extent, Time of the Turtle. Turtle files may also be found in the Topical section of the papers.

Articles that were reprinted in other magazines, such as Readers Digest, are filed with the periodical in which they first appeared
