Vice President Malone began a clippings file on Cuba in 1956. Initially, the file documented all aspects of Cuba, but, as Cuba's political troubles mounted, the file became a daily chronicle of the revolution. The series is also noteworthy for the variety of materials it includes. In addition to clippings from major U.S. and Cuban periodicals, Malone gathered radio and television transcripts, and reports and newsletters from news agencies and political organizations.
