Paul Holloway, materials science engineer, and his students are working with electrochromics. This system involves the rearranging of electrons one layer at a time and allows for color to appear on graphic designs.

Dr. Donald J. (Jack) Elzinga and his students are working to reprogram robots in order to make them more versatile.  Mention is made of The Wall Street Journal  stating that the University of Florida was one of the top places in the country to study robotics.
