     The major part of this collection consists of letters and memoranda.  In addition, there are some reports.
     These materials document the range of administrative procedures, problems, questions, and issues with which the Office of the President of the University of Florida is involved.  Letters in the folders "Academic Affairs", "Admissions", "Affirmative Action", and "Graduate School Enrollment Padding" are particularly interesting for what they reveal of the workings of the Office of the President in general and for this period of time in the University's history in particular.  Letters of a congratulatory nature (to athletics groups, performing groups, and individuals) are prevelant.  Likewise there are many letters expressing either thanks for work accomplished and monies and donations received or condolences.
     The files on "Buildings" are of interest with letters and memoranda about the initial phases of planning for additions to existing buildings or new buildings.  Also included are letters from department chairs requesting additional space.
