Series P1 consists of files and two "policy manuals" created in the Office of the President to manage statements and memoranda regarding University policy and to provide documentation of University responses to specific ongoing issues and concerns. Among the topics discussed are patent policies, admissions policies, student and faculty affairs, the University's participation in the Southern Regional Education Board, and relations with the City of Gainesville. (For additional historical files related to the University's relationship with the City of Gainesville, see Series P14a, Administrative policy records of President J. Wayne Reitz.) The series also includes a folder entitled "historical data" containing information on the history of the university, many of the colleges and divisions, and a few campus organizations.
