Scope and Content
Series 70 consists of fragmented records of Henry Philip Constans, chairman of the Dept. of Speech, 1929-1965. The series consists of a subject file, 1931-1954, a chronological file, 1930-1939, and a file of course materials. The subject file includes records related to state high school and intercollegiate debates, documents related to Constans' participation in the Graduate Council, and materials on radio broadcast training. (For many years, the Department of Speech was responsible for radio broadcast training and courses in theatre production.) The materials on radio include a Student Government proposal for a student-run radio station. The chronological file includes biennial department reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The course materials consist primarily of syllabi including drama classes.
