Scope and Content
Series 169 is a grade book for the first seven years of the University of Florida after passage of the Buckman Act of 1905. The first classes, academic year 1905-06, were held at the Lake City campus of what had been the Florida Agricultural College and that name appears on each page of the book. The spine, however, clearly indicates that this is a record of the University of Florida. Each entry provides the student's name, class rank, and hometown. Grades for each month and the year are provided. There is also a remarks column with comments on academic and disciplinary issues. The last 12 pages were inserted in the book.
