Biographical/Historical Note
Alfred A. Ring (1905-1995) taught business administration courses at the University of Florida for about 25 years. He received his B.S degree, his M.B.A. degree, and his Ph.D. degree from New York University. Dr. Ring taught at New York University prior to coming to the University of Florida when he was offered a position of associate professor in the Department of Real Estate. An interesting autobiographical account of his life can be found in Memoirs of Alfred A. Ring, 1905-1995.
Scope and Content
The records consist of an evaluation conducted by Alfred A. Ring, which was requested by George F. Baughman, Vice President for Business Affairs of the University, along with instructions from the Campus Building committee. The main study, Valuation Report of Campus Buildings, included only those structures located within the campus area. However, the preliminary forms, descriptions, and photographs of the buildings for on-campus as well as off-campus structures are included in the collection.
