Biographical/Historical Note
The Council for International Studies and Programs was established on December 29, 1969 by President Stephen C. O'Connell. The duties as set forth by President O'Connell were "to develop and provide initial administration for coordination, policy guidance, support and dissemination of information for all administrative units that have international components." The Council is the formal administrative unit for International Studies and Programs.
