Scope and Content

These folders contain correspondence, memoranda, and resumes related to the Committee on Memorials and the Naming of University Property. Much of the correspondence is addressed to the committee and contains the request that a particular person's name be used for a certain (as yet unnamed) building on the University of Florida campus. Some examples include: naming the new "Graduate School Building and International Relations Study Facility" after Dean Linton E. Grinter; naming Walker Auditorium in honor of Professor William G. Carleton; and that the Architectural Classroom Building be named after Guy C. Fulton (former architect for the State Board of Control). Resumes are often included along with the requests as a means of validation of the candidate.
