Scope and Content
This collection consists of the personal and professional papers of Claude H. Willoughby. It includes miscellaneous biographical material, manuscripts, a few published articles, and chronologically-arranged correspondence. Letters from farmers and ranchers provide information about the early activities of the College of Agriculture, particularly relating to the dairy and range cattle industries. Willoughby is remembered for his work in the eradication of ticks and Texas tick fever among Florida's herds. Also of interest is the correspondence surrounding the break-up of his Georgia dairy farm partnership as a comment on the business climate and ethic of the early twentieth century.
