Biographical/Historical Note
The University Religious Association (formerly Student Religious Association) was an umbrella group for the various ministries serving the student body of the University. Members of the faculty of the Department of Religion served as faculty advisors. Originally, the Student Religious Association was a student organization which coordinated program activities, social services, and religious holiday services. The Association's key event was the Religion-in-Life Week (see Manuscript Collection 33).
Scope and Content
The records in this collection were assembled from the files of faculty advisors in the Department of Religion, most notably Austin Creel, Delton Scudder, and Richard Hiers. The collection contains correspondence minutes of the Association, the Association's constitution, and photocopies of six scrapbooks encompassing the dates 1947-1962.
