Biographical/Historical Note

The Florida Educational Loan Corporation was established in 1922 by the Rotary Clubs of Florida to provide loans to students enrolled in the University of Florida. The loans were restricted to Florida residents and each applicant had to be recommended by the Rotary Club of his hometown. From 1923 to 1942, the corporation loaned out $95, 580. At that time, the maximum individual loan was $150 per year.


Scope and Content

The collections consists of records compiled by Klein H. Graham, the university's business manager, who served as secretary-treasurer of the corporation. The records include minutes of the Loan Committee, annual reports, correspondence between Graham and the corporation's presidents, the charter and by-laws, and capital stock information. Historical information can be found in the first folder.
