IMPORTANT: The Special Collections Grand Reading Room and the Judaica Suite will be temporarily closed for renovations. These spaces will be inaccessible starting Wednesday, June 25, until the first week in August. Researchers may still request access to materials by visiting the Map & Imagery Library reading room on the 1st Floor. Unfortunately, some materials may be inaccessible during this period (e.g., Florida city and county histories normally shelved in the Grand Reading Room). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are making every attempt to minimize disruptions to the normal services we provide.
The Department of Special & Area Studies Collections encompasses collections of unique and special types of materials (e.g., rare books, archives, and manuscript collections) and interdisciplinary collections pertaining to geographical, national or cultural regions.
