WELCOME TO CONSERVATION: REPAIR
The repair section of the Conservation Unit is staffed by one full time Senior Library Assistant, under the supervision of the Conservator. The Senior LTA is responsible for the repair of circulating materials from all Libraries. Common repairs include:
- Reback
- Recase
- Resew
- Case repairs
- Spine replacements
- Endsheet replacements
- Tip-in
- Paper repair
- Tubular hollow back
- Strap and hinge
- Photocopy
- Interlibrary Loan Orders
- Pamphlet binding
- Damaged beyond repair
The Senior LTA also constructs enclosures including:
- Phase boxes
- Portfolios
- Acid-free envelopes
- Pockets
The Repair Unit is also responsible for routing materials to the other Preservation Department Units. This includes materials for:
