CONSERVATION: CONSERVATION: Goals 2005-2006

1.  Update web pages using Contribute to reflect up to date information and current University and Library processes and standards i.e ALEPH and PeopleSoft.

Progress:  The majority of the work has been done converting all pages to Contribute and updating

information. However, this is an ongoing project keeping pages  current.

2.   Complete a "pre move back" review of ALF stacks and document areas of concern for future conservation attention. Keep informed of upcoming moves of collections ai ALF and LAD.

Progress: 11/2005. Completed a review of ALF stacks and found the main area of high concern were the oversize collections.  Decided to wait until after Library West reopened to address oversize and work on its stabilization.

3.   Develop procedures for a digital archive of before and after conservation treatments. Explore the possibility of a current work web page highlighting interesting treatments and projects in Conservation.

Progress: Experimented without much sucess in setting up a page linking photographs and current

work. Will carry this over until next year and get some training or help in setting this up.

4.   Assist in developing disaster procedures and maintenance of a library disaster manual.

Progress ongoing. Have set up salvage priorities for several of the branch libraries.

Others  are now in process and review. Reviewed disaster supplies and webpage links to

the disaster manual. Continuation and carry over to next year.
