LIBRARY BINDING COMMITTEE:
MINUTES OF 12/10/97 MEETING
- The Committee met at 10:00 a.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room of Library West.
- Laurel announced that she resigned from her position as Binding Coordinator to take effect
at the end of Tuesday,December 16, 1997.
- Martha Hruska announced possible plans for Committee structure and administration
while the Binding Coordinator position is vacant. She then answered Committee members'
questions.
- Laurel overviewed the status of the LARS networked software, "HELP." Supplies are
en route or already delivered to branches. Marston is not yet seeing the Preservation NT
server. Laurel spoke with John Ashcraft about this. Marston is working out routing problems
and will notify Preservation when they are ready to receive HELP. The remaining branches
will be mapped in the next week. Some problems with passwords have impeded HELP
installation. Representatives from the Heckman Bindery will visit on January 12 to consolidate
HELP procedures.
- Kendra Carter described her work using the Preservation Department's
trial model of HELP. She answered questions from Committee members.
Kendra will assist with HELP training in the branches.
- The Committee discussed general goals for future meetings.
