Library Binding Committee Meeting Minutes

Present: Victoria Naipavel [Chair]; Carole Bird, Special Collections; Michele Wilbanks-Fox, Music Library; John Seay, Architecture and Fine Arts Library; Carol Whitmer, Education Library; Emily Madden, Judaica; Dee Hawes, Library West Periodicals; Janet Hernberger, Preservation; Justino Llanque-Chana.
The purpose of this meeting was to view and evaluate the alternate binding software available, ABLE. Steven Wells, an ICI vice president, joined this special meeting of the Library Binding Committee meeting, to demonstrate the software and answer any questions from the group. Many good questions were asked, and answered. The Binding Unit Head, in conjunction with the Preservation Department Chair and the members of the Library Binding Committee, will determine if switching to ABLE will be practical, efficient, and in the best interest of the Smathers Libraries.
