Library Binding Committee
Charge of the Library Binding Committee
- The Library Binding Committee will meet bi-monthly to discuss, review, suggest, or enact uniform policy and procedure associated with commercial binding of library materials.
- The Committee will produce a library-wide Binding Policy Manual that may be amended to new technological trends in the commercial binding industry.
- Methods to improve communications between units will be explored and
established.

The Committee will:
- Review and discuss current procedures in all units.
- Identify similarities and differences in procedures, resolve problems and adopt most efficient operations.
- Produce revised or new procedural documents in paper and HTML Web formats monthly.
- Generate a completed Binding Policy Manual.
- Establish basic competencies and training for library binding preparations and processing staff.
- The Committee will continue to meet bi-monthly to monitor binding operations and maintain communication. Frequent contact through electronic mail and/or the Web will complement this process.
