Item Record Sorting: Statistics

In Fall 2005, work began in earnest to 'clean up' item records associated with bound volumes in Aleph that were sorting out of order due to their conversion from NOTIS in May of 2004. A three part Macro was developed and tested to automate as much of the process as possible. In January of 2006, several OPS students were hired in Preservation and Marston Science Library, using Preservation funds, to begin production level work. Initially, the work focused on actively received periodicals with sublibrary, collections of UFSWE, PER and UFSCI, PER.

Other locations will be targeted, as well as inactive periodicals and annuals, as soon as time and resources permit.
