Lost/Missing IPS not working right. Members include: Matthew Daley, Lori Driscoll, Doug Smith, Cathleen Martyniak. People in ALF using TR to mean one thing and Cataloging using it to mean something else. New IPS created: SC Shelf Ready. Conversation to create other new IPS codes started.
IPS table of current codes. The items in yellow are under consideration. Discussion about what OPAC note of some codes should say. Length of code is limited to 30 characters. Some ideas: put code in OPAC note (i.e. HB). "Ask at Service Desk (code)" To get new ones there is an IPS request form.
Print journal is cancelled and is replaced by an electronic version. If you don't have permissions to do this then just send Doug an email so that he can perform the cancellation procedure.
Changes are made to the Order, Subscription, and Holdings.
The full version of these procedures will be made available at a later date.
If you receive current issues of cancelled items send them to the Serials Unit.
In the Serials unit they are working on hiring and archivist. This person will be a liaison with the Technical Suport Librarian.
Jason will work on creating procedures on how to create a report of active subscriptions by sublibrary.
Periodical Items for Incomplete Volumes
OPAC note could be used to determine what was missing. We used to say "msg...". We have a better way in Aleph now. Always treat volume info as if it were complete. In Tab 2 of the Item form insert information into the "Web OPAC note". If most of the volume is present then insert a note that says "missing (insert missing info here)" If more is missing than is there insert a note that says "has (insert what is present here)"
Example: Cambio 16: nos.631-643
Reserve stickers where should it go? Group meeting also came up with the question to review Date Due slips adhesion. New prcoedure involves using scrapbooking dots. These have been ordered, and they will be attched by breaking them off and putting them on the book. After picking off the cover put on the Date Due slip. This will be used instead of the glue sticks. The Public Service Council has approved this. When you run out of these call Facilities.
In the Nav Map you might want to use a combination of the order view and what is in the subscription record. The Date an invoice is paid doesn't show up in this display. There are several things like this, including holdings information that doesn't display in the NavMap. This topic should be revisited with FCLA.
Springer, Oxford, and Cambridge titles were cancelled in print in the summer of 2005, and are now electronic only.
