POLICY AND PROCEDURES
The Library Materials Suggestion Form provides an opportunity for students and faculty to suggest the addition of a title(s) to the collection.
Timeline:
The process should be completed within a four week period.
Procedure:
- The Library Materials Suggestion Form should be available at all public services desks, excepting those located in the Health Science Center Library. The Public Services Division secretary maintains a master. Additional copies of the form should be requested from him/her.
- Completed forms will be accepted at all public service locations.
- Completed forms will be forwarded to the appropriate bibliographer who, in turn, will forward the form to the appropriate selector:
- If the title requested is listed in LUIS or in the card catalog, the selector should note the call number and return the form to the requestor if possible.
- If the selector checks the shelf for a requested item which is listed in LUIS or the card catalog and finds it missing, the selector should submit a trace form, containing the requestor's name and address if possible, to Circulation.
- The selector or bibliographer will decide to select or not select the title and return the request form, if possible, to the person making the request.
