- Agriculture and rural life continue to be a significant aspects of Florida history and have been integral parts of Florida's environment. Agriculture in the state has been influenced by Florida's diverse environmental conditions and has in turn influenced these conditions. In particular, south Florida's subtropical climate is unique to American agriculture, providing an agricultural history not found in other states.
