The Information Technology Department of the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida consists of the Software Unit, Web Unit, Hardware Unit and IT Coordinators.
The Information Technology Department serves Smathers Libraries by maintaining computer programming, network and hardware support.
Reporting Computer-Related Problems:To report computer-related problems, staff should send submit an IT Service Request with all pertinent information (HWID/WSID, location, and brief problem description) online via: GROVER
Programming Services, Hardware/Software Requests and Network Installations:
Programming Services (requesting creation of a new software application or adding new requirements to an existing application) and Hardware/Software Requests (requesting the purchase of new hardware or software) are all processed online through the aptly named modules in GROVER.
Network Installations should be requested via the IT Service Request module in GROVER.
Anyone may make a request, but it must be approved by the cognizant department chair before it is forwarded for further processing.
Laptop Checkout Instructions
Please submit an IT Service Request in
GROVER to reserve a laptop and/or projector for checkout.
Please include the DATE & TIME of pickup as well as the DATE & TIME of return.
Please provide 24 hour notification prior to checkout.
