Installing Trend Anti-Virus

  1. Trend Virus Scan has been relocated to a new server (smathersnt14). All computers that currently have trend antivirus installed will need to execute the file TrendClientMover.bat if you click the hyperlink it will take you to the folder then you need to double click the file TrendClientMover.bat <\\smathersnt2\readonly\trendclientmover\>
  2. When you run this program, you will need to be logged on using your userid and password. When you double click the .bat file, it will open a dos window and pause for a few seconds, it will then make the necessary changes and finish.
  3. Once it has finished, you will need to right click the trend icon in the bottom right tray and select the update now option. This will run for a few minutes updating the database and configuring your workstations to communicate with the new server for future updates. Once this is complete, you should have the latest virus pattern files and future updates will be automatic.
When performing a new installation of Trend Officescan, it should be installed from http://smathersnt14\officescan , not smathersnt2/officescan.
