Setting Up Windows XP

Setting Up Windows XP for Public Workstations

 

  1. Turn off the firewall.
  2. Set WINS
  3. Join the domain
  4. Install Windows Updates and reboot as prompted.

NOTE: If prompted to Install Internet Explorer 7.0, click No.

  1. Add Public User Groups
  2. Install applications
  3. Add the Public Printer
  4. Add the Library Specific Homepage shortcut
  5. Set the Administrator password
  6. Copy the Authentication Folder
  7. Update the VerifyPatron.ini file
  8. Run Setup.bat from Authentication folder
  9. Reboot
  10. Install Security Console
  11. Run VPStart.reg
  12. Reboot
  13. Set BIOS password.
  14. Install the Deep Freeze Client
