Research Assistance Desks @ Library West

Main Research Assistance Desk - 3rd Floor

Research Assistance Desk Third Floor Library WestLibrary West is pleased to provide students, faculty, staff, researchers and the community with individualized research assistance. 

While users may schedule appointments with librarians in advance, they may get immediate help in finding and using the best information sources by going to the Research Assistance Desk on the third floor. 

A list of detailed hours and special dates are available.

This desk is regularly staffed by library faculty and professionals.  Librarians will be happy to assist with any type of question, ranging from campus directions and finding books and journals, to how to search a database and for clues or perspectives on a complex research question.  Subject specialists in the areas of the humanities and social sciences share their specialized knowledge of information sources. 

Information Point - 2nd Floor

Information Point - Second Floor Library WestThe Information Point, or InfoPoint, is the first place that users may ask for assistance when entering Library West.

This service desk is located at the head of the escalators on the second floor, at the east end of the Circulation Desk. 

It is a place to stop and ask directions, get maps, see if a book, video or article is on course reserve, or ask any one of numerous questions about Library West and the library system in general.
