The Latin American Collection holds over 50,000 items in microform, most of which are in microfilm format. Researchers may use a reader/copier for microfilm and microfiche located in our reading room. Our holdings include:
Newspapers from Latin America, with special emphasis on the Caribbean area. The University of Florida has extensive and unique holdings in this area.
U.S. State Department Records documenting U.S.-Latin American relations, mainly during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The NACLA Archive of Latin Americana is "composed of ephemera and serials relating to socioeconomic and political conditions in Latin America from the 1960s through the 1980s."
Census Data, a partial finding aid for which is available here. Searching the UF Catalog using "census" and a country name as a keyword will show more complete holdings, in microfilm, print and CD-ROM formats.

Cuban History and Literature: Printed Materials from Harvard University is a collection of monographs from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Contents of reels 1-96 listed here. Note: UF holds Part A (Reels 1-65).
Brazil's Popular Groups, a collection of pamphlets, serials and posters microfilmed by the Library of Congress which traces the development of social movements in Brazil, from 1966 to the present. Searchable index online here.
Other large microfilm sets include some of the Yale University Pamphlets Series and the part of the French Revolution Research Collection dealing with the French colonies in the Americas. Most monographs on microfilm, including dissertations, are cataloged individually and can be found in the UF Catalog. Of special interest are the Bahamas Government Records, which cover the period from about 1700 to 1850.
