This website is an effort of the Government Documents Department of the George A. Smathers Libraries of the University of Florida to provide indexing of and access to government information on the World Wide Web. Initial funding for this project was provided through a Federal Library Services and Technology Act grant by the Florida State Library. The site's primary mission is to meet the needs of researchers and the general public for access to information by and about the state of Florida and its local governments. Our goal is to provide this data within 2 or 3 mouse clicks. Our secondary objective
is to provide support for the federal depository librarians within Florida.
To that end, an administration page was developed providing links to information
useful to documents librarians. The Federal Depository Library Program
(FDLP) is designed to provide free access to information from all three
branches of the federal government. Libraries that have been designated
as Federal depositories are responsible for the maintenance and availability
of materials provided by the FDLP. This site is designed to function fully with Internet Explorer 4.x or Netscape Navigator 4.x or later browsers. Some functions such as image swapping or client-side image mapping may not work with some earlier browsers. Alternative features have been provided for critical functions that do not work in earlier version browsers. The webpages on this
site are best viewed at a screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. At a lower
resolution, such as 640x480 pixels, the pages are designed to allow horizontal
scrolling to preserve the original look of the design. Credits:
