1) Announcements
-
The Web server migration went smoothly. Staff should contact Tom Minton if they encounter problems while using Web editors.
-
Jason Fleming will interview for the Technical Support Coordinator position vacancy Monday, November 7th. The interview schedule and supporting documentation is available in Microsoft Outlook Public Folders.
-
Requests to create new Public Folders and problems encountered with current Public Folders should be submitted through Sys Help. During the mail server migration permissions were altered for unknown reasons. If staff experience difficulties accessing Public Folders remotely Tom Minton suggested using Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla FireFox.
2) Updates:
-
Reclass update – Lawan Orser
-
Lawan reported that more than 30,000 monograph records have been processed out of approximately 40,000.
-
Naomi reported that Dewey Periodical holdings have been separated and problems are currently being addressed.
-
Rich reported that FCLA is working on how to change the sublibrary/collection codes for all Library West Dewey-classed books and periodicals that will be permanently shifted to storage. They are currently working on a related project for UNF that will help prepare for the needed UF changes.
-
FCLA Problem Reporting System
-
Last week Library staff members helped beta test a new FCLA problem reporting system. Some, but not all previously submitted problem reports have been entered into the new system.
-
-
Budget update – Michele Crump
-
Materials Budget - $2,936,896.35
-
DSR funds have been received but unfortunately will not provide much relief for the libraries lacking budget.
-
At this point monies will not be “scooped” from various allocations.
-
Spending appears quicker this year due to less money and more being spent on electronics.
