HOLIDAY PARTY EVENTS / ACTIVITIES:
Potluck: Meats, desserts, sweet & unsweet iced tea, lemonade, water, hot chocolate and hot apple cider will be provided. We'll continue the tradition of sharing food, so please sign up with the food or beverage you plan to bring. People who contribute to the potluck will be entered into a drawing for a prize. White Elephant Gift Exchange: Wrap up something you don't want but thing someone else might enjoy to the party to exchange in this holiday game. The game will take place at 1:30 pm.
Gingerbread Centerpiece Contest: Enter as an individual, group or department. Entries must be edible and must contain gingerbread. Enter in 1 of 3 categories: Most Creative; Best Use of Candy; Most Difficult/Complex. Please sign up if you plan to enter, and indicate which category you are entering. A panel of judges following a list of criteria will select the winners. Winners of each category will be awarded a prize, as well as a prize for Best Overall. Everyone who brings an entry will receive a prize, provided they sign up by Monday, Dec. 7 Sign up to Enter
Decorate a Gingerbread Cut-out: Come and paint, draw or color paper a Gingerbread Boy or girl to decorate the room at the party. Thursday, Dec. 3 and Friday, Dec. 4. between 9am and 4 pm at the MSL staff lounge (first floor). Paper, paint, brushes, crayons and markers provided.
Donation Drive: We'll be collecting donations for the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Gainesville. Requested donations include toilet paper, paper towels and gift cards to Target or WalMart (monetary donations will go to the purchase of gift cards.) Other items from their general needs/wish list will be collected. A wish list for children of a local family will follow shortly.
Volunteers: The Holiday Party Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to give an hour or two of their time to help with Set Up on Dec. 9th; Food Prep and Organization, and Clean Up on Dec. 10th. If you'd like to help out, please sign up: Volunteer Sign Up
