Present: Cathy Mook-Martyniak, Kelley Cunningham, Grace Strawn, Peter McKay, Jan Swanbeck, Erich Kesse, Jim Cusick, Jane Anne Carey
Announcements: August minutes were approved. Cathy introduced Jane Anne Carey, our newest member from the Cataloging and Metadata department. She is filling the vacancy that was created when Tatiana Barr left UF. Jane Anne is currently working on the Baldwin Grant.
Database: Kelley reported that all active grants have been added into the database. A few of the closed grants have been added as well. Kelley is waiting on a response from Stephen in regards to duplicate entry issues.
Newsletter/MGP Promotions: According to a survey from the group, only the Preservation and Cataloging and Metadata departments did not receive the paper versions of these documents.
Mini-Grant Applications: The committee decided that Kelley will hand deliver all applications to the review board. Three meetings dates were established to meet and discuss the applications, Oct. 5 th from 3-5, Oct 9 th from 9-11, and Oct 11 from 2-4. For those who can not make the meetings, they will submit their application review scores to Kelley. Our plan is to have all final recommendations to the directors by Friday Oct. 13, 2006. Kelley will create and maintain an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all applications and their scores/rankings, etc. A discussion was held in regards to the congratulations/regret letters that will be sent to applicants.
Back Burner issues: Cathy stated that the Flow Chart Version 2 has been revised and for members to check it out and send her any comments you may have. When all is in agreement, the flow chart will be posted on our webpage.
Education/Training: The group agreed that any grant writing workshops/classes would be beneficial to the library community. Kelley will check with our DSR office to see if they have a program set up to come here and do a grant workshop. We will continue to discuss this issue in the future.
