Present: Trudi DiTrolio, Brian Keith, Vernon Kisling, Michelle Foss, Elaine Needelman, Chelsea Dinsmore, and Kathryn Kennedy
Trudi started the discussion by confirming that the meeting agenda would be to finalize the Staff Development Needs Assessment Survey so that she could send it out as soon as Tom (Minton) could create the survey in Survey Monkey.
Kathryn mentioned that the IRB sent a response saying that the review was not necessary since the questions asked are evaluating curriculum.
It was decided that we would combine the Communications and Customer Service sections of the survey and add a skill about “Dealing with angry patrons” to this section. “Present to a group of people” was changed to “Public speaking/presenting information to others”.
It was also decided that there be a short blurb between the identifying questions and the start of the survey to give some information about the make up of the survey.
“Goal Setting,” “Project management,” and “General Statistical Analysis” were added to the Team work section. And “Goal Setting” was removed from Personal enrichment section.
In the Computer/Technical Skills section, SPSS was added to the Statistics skill.
In the Librarianship section, we added “Statistics for Research.”
A paragraph was added above the Supervisory Skills section to explain why we need this data.
Trudi announced that Jennifer Blade from UFDHR’s Training and Development has completed preparation for a Customer Service Series she will start in August, as long as LW is open.
Kathryn will finalize the survey and send it to Trudi by the end of the day. Trudi will contact Tom to have him create a survey in Survey Monkey. It was decided that the survey will run for one week, with a day-before-the-deadline email going out to remind people to fill it out.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2pm-3pm, in the Library East Conference Room. Agenda TBA by Trudi.
