    General Web Sites

    Aiming towards comprehensiveness, these "supersites" try to gather the most important related sites on particular field or area. They include e-texts, library or national catalogs, newspapers online, bibliographies, and so on. They are the electronic equivalent of a bibliography of bibliographies. For Spanish studies the student and researcher should be familiar with the following:

    1. WESSWeb: http://www.lib.virginia.edu/wess/

    This is the official site of the Western European Subject Specialists section of the Association of College and Research Libraries. Separate pages are maintained for Spanish studies, in both the humanities and social sciences. Useful for link to national library catalogs, primary sources, newspapers. The links are annotated and keyword searching is possible. Essential site, section on Gateways for and to Spain lists dozen of major links such as:

      • Resources for Spain, multidisciplinary guide from the University of Kansas
      • Sí, Spain, from the Spanish Embassy in Otlawa.
      • Amrem's World Online: Spain, access by broad subject realms
      • WWW Servers in Spain, major emphasis on University servers.

    2. Compiled and maintained by Blake Landor, selector for philosophy, religion and classics, this site provides a comprehensive list of online and electronic resources available at the University of Florida as well as links of interest to all of the humanities.

    3. Latin American Studies Web Page: http://web.uflib.ufl.edu/lac/
    4. Maintained by the Latin American Studies bibliographer at UF, Richard Phillips, this page provides local resources and links to other web pages on the cultural interaction of Spain and the Americans.

    Megasite on foreign language study. Languages are listed alphabetically, after meta-indexes and general directories. Under Spanish one finds the following links:

    A major site, at the University of Kansas, for Spanish language and literature on the web, linking gateways, e-texts, e-journals, book trade, etc.
