EbscoHost        
Full text and graphics for over 3,800 journals in business, social science, health, science, and humanities. Communication and Mass Media Complete and Academic Search Premier are especially helpful for journalism/mass communications research.    

Factiva
More than 8,000 newspapers, magazines, journals, wire services, newsletters and other media and business resources.

FirstSearch
Although many of the databases previously available in FirstSearch have migrated to other services, several useful resources are still available including Electronic Collections Online (ECO), Worldcat, and ArticleFirst.

Gale Resources
Includes over 25 separate databases, including Academic Onefile, Expanded Academic ASAP and LegalTrac. Cross searching of multiple databases available.

JSTOR
Complete digitized archives of many core scholarly journals starting with the very first issues, many of which date from the 1800s. Includes both multi-disciplinary and discipline specific collections.

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
Lexis Nexis provides full text but no graphics from over 5,000 newspapers, magazines and journals, wire services and radio/tv transcripts. Also includes legal, business, medical and reference files.

Sage Journals Online

Includes over 470 journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine, including many communications specific publications.

Web of Knowledge
Includes access to citation indexes (social science, science and arts/humanities). Also links to Journal Citation Reports, Medline, Current Contents Connect, and more.

This project involved a survey and subsequent cataloging of Florida newspaper publishing from colonial times to the present; UF spearheads a microfilming project to protect Florida's corporate memory.

An extensive on-line database of over 7,000 advertisments from the J. Walter Thompson Company Competitive Advertisement Collection.  It is available from the John W. Hartman Center at Duke University.  The images are from U.S. newspapers and magazines from 1911 through 1955.

Reporter.Org
Reporter.org was conceived by Investigative Reporters & Editors as a way to provide a variety of resources to journalists, journalism educators, and the public at large via the Web. Founded with a grant from the Hillman Foundation, the project continues to evolve.

Florida Journalism History Project
The Florida Journalism History Project identifies collections and documents related to Florida Journalism and provides a Web-based “portal” that simplifies locating and accessing these materials. Consists of full-text digitized materials, bibliographic lists, compiled chronologies, links to relevant special collections or newspaper collections and archives, and any other materials relevant to the topic.

Sources in the History of Mass Communication
An online bibliography made up of books, articles, dissertations, and other academic resources in the field of Mass Communication History.  Contains many of the most frequently cited resources in a variety of research areas, as well as many classic older texts.  It is also regularly updated to include recently published material.

Poynter Institute Bibliography of Journalism History

Extensive compilation of both online resources and books pertaining to journalism history.

University of Minnesota Media History Project

Hosted by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnnesota. Includes sections on early media, print media, electrical media, mass media and digital media.

The Marion Brechner Citizens Access Project
